Kasdeja—also rendered Kasdeya, Kasdeja, or Kasbêl in some discussions, though manuscript names and identifications vary—is an angelic figure found in the later Watcher traditions of 1 Enoch, especially chapter 69. There is an important correction to the image we just created: describing Kasdeja simply as a “Watcher of Secrets and Shadows” or a revealer of general “cosmic knowledge” is artistic language.
