Genesis Chapter 6 - Tamiel — A Watcher Associated With the Rebellion on Mount Hermon

   Tamiel is one of the names associated with the fallen Watchers in the ancient 1 Enoch tradition . His name appears in different forms across manuscripts and translations, including Tamiel, Tâmêl, and related spellings . Because the surviving textual traditions vary, we need to be especially careful about assigning Tamiel a specific forbidden teaching. What does 1 Enoch actually say? In 1 Enoch 6 , Tamiel appears in lists of the leaders or chiefs connected with the two hundred Watchers who descended in the days of Jared. According to the narrative, these Watchers gathered upon Mount Hermon , agreed together by oath to carry out their decision, took human wives, and became part of the events that 1 Enoch connects with the corruption preceding the Flood.
