2 Samuel 7:18

Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

2 Samuel 7:19

And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?

David's prayer reveals a heart overwhelmed by the goodness, mercy, and faithfulness of God. After receiving the divine promise that his house and kingdom would be established, David humbled himself before the LORD, acknowledging that neither his position nor his family background entitled him to such extraordinary blessings.

David was not merely thanking God for what He had already done; he was worshiping God for what He had promised to accomplish in the future.
