Our Great High Priest | Hebrews 4:15 - 16

 Come Boldly to the Throne of Grace

Hebrews 4:15–16 presents Jesus Christ as our great High Priest who understands human weakness. Jesus was “in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” Because He experienced genuine temptation and suffering while remaining sinless, believers have a High Priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses.

Because of Christ's priestly ministry, we are invited to:

“Come boldly unto the throne of grace...” — Hebrews 4:16 KJV

To come boldly does not mean approaching God arrogantly or without reverence. It speaks of approaching Him with confidence and freedom, knowing that through Christ we have access to God's presence.

At the throne of grace, believers are promised two things: mercy and grace to help in time of need. Mercy addresses our need for compassion, while grace provides God's help and strength for what we are facing.

Key Thought

Because Jesus is our compassionate High Priest, weakness should not cause us to run away from God—it should cause us to draw near to Him.

When temptation, weakness, suffering, or need arises, the invitation remains:

Come boldly. Obtain mercy. Find grace. Receive help.
