Exodus Chapter Five verses 6-10

Exodus 5:6 And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,
Exodus 5:7 You shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.

Exodus 5:8 And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, you shall lay upon them; you shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.

God wants his people let go so that they can worship him. So that they can do sacrifice to their God.   It's important for us to understand that God frees us from the power of  the Devil, so that we can worship him.

Exodus 5:9 Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labor therein; and let them not regard vain words.

Exodus 5:10 And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.

Don't think that the devil is going to just willing let you go.  He needs you in his kingdom as well, he needs to keep you in bondage, keep you a slave for him so that you can continue to build his kingdoms.  And like the pharaoh, he will make life harder for you,  Here in this lesson, we see that when the children asked to go and worship God, the Pharaoh gave them more work to do, so that they will not have time to go and worship God.
