Martha A Woman of the Bible

A Believer in Jesus Christ
She received Jesus into her house, but instead of sitting at Jesus' feet, hearing the word, she was distracted with much serving,   and she came to him, and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister have left me to serve alone? allow her to come and help me.

As women, we think we can serve Jesus best by  hostist, keepers of the house, do the cooking and cleaning. But this is not always the case when it comes to Jesus, Jesus answers Martha,  "  Martha, Martha, you are careful ( anxious, take thought) and troubled about many things:  But one thing is needful: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

 Jesus Told her, one thing is needful, (necessary) and Mary has chosen that good part ,that good part of hearing the word, sitting at Jesus' feet and being taught.  Domestic duties have their place, but sitting at the feet of Jesus is better. Getting taught in the word, so that you can be a better wife, mother, sister, boss, employer, employee etc.

Bathsheba

Women of the Bible Bath-Sheba, Daughter of an Oath Bath- Sheba and it is translated, " Daughter of an Oath ," She is the wife of Uriah the Hittite, Whom David saw as she was bathing and took her for himself.  Having taken another man's wife, and finding pregnant, David tried to cover up what he had done by bring Uriah home from war, so that it would seem like he had gotten his own wife pregnant.  But Uriah did not cooperate with David's plans, so David had Uriah sent to the front line in battle to be killed.  With Uriah dead, David was then able to take Bath-Sheba as his wife.  Bath-Sheba was a faithful and helpful wife, she secured the throne for her son Solomon.
