Rebekah The Woman at the Well

Women of the Bible

Speak His Word Only, another Woman of the Bible, Rebecca.  She is the daughter of Bethuel, and the wife of Isaac.

And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age:  And Abraham said to his eldest servant of his house, that he wanted him to go and get a wife for his son Isaac. And Abraham made him swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that he would not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom he dwell:

But he should go to his country, and to his kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.  And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.  And the servant began to pray to God to show him that the damsel that will give him drink and his camel, that will be the wife for Isaac.

A wife appointed for Isaac, she was of the right house, of the right linage, she was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up And the servant ran to meet her.

She was an answer to prayer.   Sometimes when we pray, we want conformation of our prayer, so we say, Lord show me a sign, I don't want to be wrong in this, I want to know it's you.  Show me if this is the right man/ or woman for me.....and God will send the right one for you.
